Platina Commercial Bank has become a participant of the Deposit Insurance System under the Central Bank of the Russian Federation

On December 7, 2004, upon examination of the petition of Platina Bank, the Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation handed down a favorable opinion on the Bank’s compliance with the requirements for participation in the Deposit Insurance System, reported the Foreign and Public Relations Department of the Central Bank.

On December 7, 2004, the state corporation Deposit Insurance Agency included Platina Commercial Bank in the register of the banks participating in the obligatory deposit insurance system. The participation in the system is mandatory for all banks entitled to provide retail deposit services. The deposits are deed insured since the date a bank is included in the register of the system participants. To insure a deposit, the depositor does not have to enter into any agreement: the deposit is insured by the act of law On Insurance of Private Individual Deposits with the Banks of the Russian Federation No. 177-FZ dated December 23, 2003.

Andrey Gribov, Chairman of the Platina Bank Board of Directors, said in this respect, "For 12 years Platina Bank has been securing a high level of safety for client assets, adhering to an extremely conservative credit policy and abstaining from gambling in the market of the government and corporate securities. Throughout its entire history, the bank has never acquired government obligations. Such policy enabled us to provide the highest level of liquidity – even in the periods of acute crises. Thus on August 18, 1998, the bank, without any difficulties, granted one of its reliable clients with a large credit. At present, a considerable part of the bank’s profit comes from non-interest bearing revenues; to a great extent it results from the development of the Russian leading online payment system accepting payments in favor of communication operators". Platina Commercial Bank became the Moscow 58-th credit institution among 236 Russian institutions which are currently admitted to the bank deposit insurance system.

The system of insurance of retail deposits in the Russian Federation is called to protect the rights and legitimate interests of the depositors of Russian banks, to strengthen confidence in the banking system of the Russian Federation and attract retail savings.
